A Raised Dish has 2 Main Purposes;
* It allows pets to stand or sit upright with front legs straight to eat in comfort, no more crouching to floor level as with all other one piece dishes. This can be very uncomfortable and painful for some seniors, and those with arthritis or injuries.
* It should raise the food to at least the level of their stomach (inside) which is about chest high. This helps prevent vomiting of meals caused by a re-flux action triggered by a muscle in the throat of some pets from eating with their head below the stomach.
